Nigerian Worship Songs

worshipI absolutely love Christian worship songs! And while searching the internet today I just happened to stumble across some Nigerian worship songs which I thought I would share with you (don’t worry, they are in english).

Nigerian Praise And Worship Songs

As I read over the lyrics of their songs, the thing I found I loved most about them, was their simple lyrics. They didn’t try to be all fancy and theological. Instead the just hit simple biblical truths. Here are some examples:

My God Is A Miracle God

My God is a Miracle God (2x)

He has never failed,
He will never fail.
He will do what He says He will do,
He will do what He promised to do.

Come And See The Lord Is Good

Come and see the Lord is good (2x)
There is nothing He can not do
Come and see the Lord is good.

He gave me victory
He gave me peace of mind
There is nothing He can not do
I have seen Lord is good

Oh, What A Wonderful, Wonderful Day

Oh what a wonderful, wonderful day,
A day I will never forget,
After I’d wandered in darkness away,
Jesus my Saviour I met.
Oh what a tender compassionate friend,
He met the needs of my heart
Shadows dispelling, with joy I am telling
He made all the darkness depart.

Heaven came down and glory filled my soul
When at the cross, my Saviour made me whole
My sins were washed away, and my night was turned to day
Heaven came down and glory filled my soul (3x)
I don’t know about you, but these Nigerian worship songs remind me of the passage in Matthew:
Then he said, “I tell you with certainty, unless you change and become like little children, you will never get into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3 – NIV
Do you think that we some times overcomplicate our worship to God? Have you ever noticed how children seem to be aware of so much more of what is going on around them than adults? Maybe in our business we get distracted. Maybe in our desire to be seen as knowledgeable we miss the child-like spirit that God so desires.

Keep following my Blog I will try to update it regularly with other Nigerian and Black Worship Songs.
